For this exclusive merchandise collaboration with SFMOMA, I worked on customizing a pair of knit slippers and a dog sweater to reflect our brand’s identity. The goal was to integrate SFMOMA’s established color palette into an existing product previously designed by Verloop. My role involved gathering brand colors from past SFMOMA collaborations, iterating on design concepts, and selecting the final design through staff feedback. The resulting product was crafted to align with both the unique identity of SFMOMA and the aesthetic appeal of the original slippers, offering a unique, branded product for museum visitors.
Key Responsibilities
• Brand Research & Color Integration: Conducted a thorough review of past collaborations with SFMOMA to identify the brand colors used in previous products. Applied these colors thoughtfully to the knit slipper and dog sweater designs to ensure a cohesive and consistent alignment with SFMOMA’s brand identity.
• Design Iteration: Utilized Adobe Illustrator to create multiple design iterations, experimenting with various combinations of SFMOMA’s brand colors to achieve the most visually striking and on-brand results.
• Collaboration & Feedback: Presented the final design options to the SFMOMA team for voting. Collaborated with the buying and design teams to gather feedback on design preferences and to ensure the final product resonated with SFMOMA's target audience.
• Final Selection & Vendor Coordination: After gathering staff input, finalized the design for production and worked closely with our product vendor to ensure the chosen designs were feasible for manufacturing. This involved coordinating design specifications and confirming color matching with the vendor’s production capabilities.
